JESSICA SIMPSON is still reeling from her split with TONY ROMO.
The Dukes of Hazzard beauty is “sad, mad and confused” according to close pals, who revealed her emotions are “all over the place”.
The couple, who began dating in November 2007, broke up the day before country star Jessica’s 29th birthday, prompting her to cancel a Barbie and Ken-themed party.
The heartbroken star had previously gushed about their relationship, describing Tony as “the one” and spoke of her desire to have children with the Dallas Cowboys ace.
A source told People magazine that although it had been “difficult lately”, the couple had got used to living their relationship in the spotlight.
The source said: “Dating her comes along with her celebrity and press – that’s not easy for anyone.
“But she and Tony seemingly had it figured out. They rolled with the punches and focused on each other. They just lost sight of that at the end.”
Jessica’s family have shared her heartache, as they were big fans of Tony.
“Everyone really liked him,” said a close friend of the Simpson family.
Another source added: “He wanted this perfect mould of the perfect football girlfriend.
“People don’t realize that Jessica has been worn down by Hollywood.
“She has insecurities and inner demons that she struggles with. She’s not some upbeat blond cheerleader that people want her to be.”
Jessica’s will not be seeking comfort from ex-husband NICK LACHEY who recently split from his longterm girlfriend VANESSA MINNILLO.
Her family, namely dad JOE, will not allow it.
“It won’t happen,” said the source.
“They have no respect for him. Jessica has no respect for him. There is way too much bad blood between Nick and Joe for Jessica to even think about it.”
